In GooseWrite, FFmpeg is used for video transcoding, video editing and export, thumbnail generation, and playback proxy generation.
The exact license obligations applicable to FFmpeg depend on the actual binary build distributed with the released version of GooseWrite.

For any GooseWrite desktop release that bundles FFmpeg binaries, the corresponding third-party notices and, where applicable, source code offer or source access information for the distributed media binaries will be provided together with the product or accompanying release materials.

FFprobe is a multimedia stream analyzer provided as part of the FFmpeg project.

FFprobe is distributed as part of the FFmpeg project and is subject to the license terms applicable to the specific FFprobe build included with the released version of GooseWrite.
In GooseWrite, FFprobe is used for video metadata inspection, stream probing, and media analysis.
